Day 1
The Cliffs
- Loop route of around 62 miles
The first stage will take us to discover the Rocche del Crasto, imposing limestone formations rising to 1,315 meters, part of the Nebrodi range in the Sicilian Apennines, located between the areas of Alcara Li Fusi and Longi. Here, with a bit of luck, it will be possible to spot the griffon vultures that inhabit this area.
The route continues through forests and valleys until reaching one of the most scenic mountain lakes in the Nebrodi, Lago Trearie. From here, we will head towards Floresta, the highest town in the Nebrodi, where a lunch stop is planned.
In the afternoon, we will ride through the Bosco di Mangalaviti until reaching the second lake of the day, Lago Biviere. If weather conditions are favorable, it will be possible to see both the Aeolian Islands and Mount Etna from this point.
Leaving the lake behind, we return towards the coast, riding along trails and dirt roads back to the accommodation.
Day 2
The Inland
- Route of around 62 miles
- Luggage transport by van included
We will leave the Nebrodi behind and head into the Sicilian inland. From the coast, we will climb up to Monte Soro, the highest peak of the Nebrodi, before descending again towards the interior. Riding through forests and smooth dirt roads, we will reach Maniace, leaving the province of Messina and entering that of Catania, with Mount Etna always visible on the horizon from different angles.
After a quick lunch stop, the route will continue south through cultivated fields and rolling hills stretching as far as the eye can see, until we enter the third province of the day, Enna.
We will reach Centuripe, a village famous for its unique shape which, when seen from above, resembles a five-pointed star. A place rich in history, with pre-Roman origins and numerous archaeological remains.
Here we will stop for an aperitif before heading to the hotel, where we will have dinner and stay overnight.
Day 3
Back to the woods
- Route of around 62 miles
- Luggage transport by van included
The third day marks the return towards the Nebrodi and the coast, riding through valleys and trails that run alongside small streams, immersed in increasingly wild nature.
We will reach Troina, an ancient town in the heart of the island and listed among the most beautiful villages in Italy, where a short stop for refueling is planned.
From here, we climb back up into the Nebrodi along a historic trail known as the “Cannedda”, still a pilgrimage route today: every year, the inhabitants of Capizzi cross it barefoot or on horseback in honor of Saint Anthony of Padua.
After lunch in a charming restaurant immersed in the forest, the route continues towards one of the park’s most iconic locations, Lago Maulazzo.
From here, we return towards the coast and back to the accommodation.
Day 4
Tra boschi e tradizioni
The final day is dedicated to the San Fratello area, riding through dense forests, stream crossings, and trails shaped by livestock paths.
The route develops through wide valleys and open landscapes until reaching the area of Cesarò, where a lunch stop is planned immersed in nature. Here, in a scenic setting in the heart of the forest, you will enjoy typical local products, including the Nebrodi Black Pig.
In the afternoon, the ride continues towards one of the most panoramic points in the area to visit the Nelson Obelisk, a historic monument located in the territory of Maniace, linked to Admiral Horatio Nelson.
After the visit, return to the accommodation and end of the tour.
The largest natural park in Sicily
